At noon on November 11, the 126th NAU Secretary and President Forum was held in the office area on the second floor of International Joint Audit Institute. Yan Weilong, Secretary of the University Party Committee, communicated with freshmen representatives from international joint audit institute. The theme was "What to Learn in University". The forum was presided over by Li Min, dean of International Joint Audit Institute. The atmosphere was active and harmonious.
At the meeting, students actively asked questions on how to make full use of the international advantages of the institute, how to make plan well, how to balance professional learning and comprehensive development, and how to deal with the current complex and changeable international situation. Yan Weilong carefully recorded students' confusions and gave systematic and detailed suggestions.
With regard to how to make full use of the international advantages of the college, Yan Weilong said that the students of International Joint Audit Institute should have an international vision, look abroad, and strive to work in international organizations; they should realize the differences between International Joint Audit Institute and other institutes in NAU, adhere to research-oriented learning, and stop pursuing standard answers in traditional exam oriented education. Students in the institute should be proficient in English and French, as well as study, think and organize their knowledge independently, then form their own views and become innovative talents.
About how to make plans well, Yan Weilong believed that students should first establish the awareness of making strategies and plans—— making strategies for in key points and making plans for normal things. Then they should make clear their goals, and it was better to set the 50-year-old goal; and then, according to this goal, they should deduce what should they do right now, and strictly implement and self-examine them.
In regard to the question of how to balance professional learning and comprehensive development, Yan Weilong proposed that " professional learning " was the bottom line and "comprehensive development" was the upper limit. These two were not contradictory, but had was a sequential relationship. It was necessary to put professional learning at the first place before considering the issue of comprehensive development.
In response to the question of how to deal with the current complex and changeable international situation, Yan Weilong replied that there were several pairs of eternal philosophical contradictions in the world, and the development of human history was to fluctuate between the contradictory poles.Although unilateralism prevailed in the world at present, the comparative advantages of international cooperation would appear again within a few years.Students did not need to worry too much about the international situation.
Yan Weilong's careful answers, like a gurgling spring, nourished the hearts of the students and made the students move more firmly.Hope the students will have high ambitions, follow the instructions of the secretary, formulate long-term development goals and work hard for them, and eventually make achievements and live up to their youth!
Yang Fangmin, deputy secretary of the University Youth League Committee, and all the faculty and staff of the International United Auditing College participated in this forum.
